Hi Lilli,
Wonderful job on this podcast! We are blessed to have you as a spokesperson. We need people advocating for partners so others can avoid additional treatment induced trauma. You were very well spoken and informative.

I especially related to the call for a psychological evaluation of addicts to determine if there are underlying psychiatric issues driving the behavior. It should be compulsory in the treatment world to avoid treatment induced trauma. It appears that we have reached the same conclusion after five years of intense immersion in this world. Primarily that some younger addicts may indeed have a true process addiction and for other addicts their behavior is a symptom of underlying pathology. Treating this as purely an addiction is appropriate in some cases and in many other cases there is an underlying personality disorder that will not be adequately addressed through addiction treatment. Differential diagnosis needs to be the standard. Keep up the good work.
