Sonia Levine, MC, LAPC, NCC, CMAT, CSAT

Sonia is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, Multiple Addiction Therapist, and Psychotherapist who specializes in treating addiction, trauma and codependence. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Family Studies and Human Development, and a Master's degree in Clinical Counseling. She is currently working at The Highland Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, a private practice, where she treats clients in both individual and group settings.

Sonia's training and background include working as a primary therapist at The Meadows in Wickenburg, Arizona where her therapy focused on treating patients with sexual addiction, as well as their spouses/partners and families. While there, she was trained and supervised by Pia Mellody, author of Facing Codependence and Facing Love Addiction, Claudia Black, author of It will Never Happen to Me and Deceived, and Maureen Canning, author of Love, Lust and Anger. 

Sonia completed her CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist) and CMAT (Certified Multiple Addictions Therapist) certifications through the International Institute of Trauma Addiction Professionals.  She was trained by Dr. Patrick Carnes, author of Out of the Shadows, and Facing the Shadow.

Sonia is presently studying with the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute to become a practitioner (SEP), a trauma resolution therapy developed by Dr. Peter Levine. In addition, she is also currently working toward certification as a Connections facilitator, an evidence-based treatment for shame resiliency, developed by Dr. Brené Brown.

Sonia believes that it is her life's work to help and support individuals who have experienced deep levels of despair, regain hope and courage for lifelong healing.
